Welcome to the Dark side.. This is the 'Dark' theme for my 100 Theme Vocaloid Challenge. XD

I don't know why I decided to do this theme next, but I've been getting into a lot of Tim Burton's films lately (maybe even more than I used to as a child. o_o), so I think after watching many of his movies again (Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, and the Corpse Bride) that's what compelled me to start doing the 'Dark' theme and taking it farther than originally intended... <_<

This drawing features a 'dark' or 'evil' version of Miku and Kaito (in a more elegant style), who are posing inside a castle/mansion in front of a blood-red stained glass window, which depicts some kind of abstract demon? o_o For this, I decided to make Miku a succubus and Kaito a vampire (can those two go together though? o_o XD). I actually had no idea what a succubus was until I looked it up.., and to my surprise, it was much more different than what I thought they were.. XD But what made me decide to make Miku a succubus was, because she has the same color hair as the character Morrigan in the Darkstalkers game, who happens to be a succubus. XD So I thought that might be a good inspiration to go to for her look. XD

I would have gone even a bit farther with this drawing (mostly in terms of how revealing Miku's dress was.. -since she is a 'succubus' after all- >_> XD), but I noticed most of my watchers are younger, so I didn't want to have to put this as 'Mature' content.. XD And yes, to make this drawing stand out on it's own some more, I decided to give Kaito a more 'revealing' outfit, instead of an elegant/gentlemen one. XD Now they can both be equally as 'dark,' 'daring' and 'evil.' XD

There is also an extremely long story behind this drawing during the making of it (which I feel I must get off my chest), so here it goes.. XD

I went through many ideas for this drawing... At first I was to just do a Black Rock Shooter Miku and Kaito (since they seem like ‘dark’ versions of the characters), but then the poses got tricky for me as well as backgrounds, so I then brainstormed some more and thought about drawing Zatsune Miku (Miku's 'dark side' with the black hair and red and black clothes). But I had no idea who to pair her with (since I wanted this to be a pairing image). I thought about pairing her with Akaito.. but... Akaito belongs to Mikuo!.. So there was no one else she seemed to match with that well for me to carry on with the idea.. I'm also not really a big fan of Zatsune enough to do a drawing of her.. especially a solo one... So in the end, I decided to do a gothic/dark version of Miku (with Kaito of course XD) I thought if Miku is going 'gothic/dark,' then they will go gothic/dark together! XDD (I'm too obsessed with this pair, so you can't blame me. XD)

But in the last few days of working on this drawing when I was coloring in the drawing (the very critical part!) I had TWO power outages and ONE computer crash when I was in the middle of it!!! (The crash was the most damaging to my work of all ) You have no idea how DEVASTATING and PAINFUL that was to me... I was just finished coloring the hands with all the complicated details and shading (taking more than 4 hours), but for SOME odd reason, when my computer suddenly wanted to crash, it decided to give a PERMANENT error to the files I worked on that day! So forever, those files became inaccessible.. >_< However, I also showed my friend the drawing at this particular stage through AIM’s picture sharing feature, so you would think I could have her send that drawing back to me from there… but NO! HER power went out ALSO, even before my computer crashed, so even that drawing is gone on her side. >_< (Remember..., NEVER work on computer drawings when it’s thunder storming/raining outside, even if you have a strong urge to draw >_< I had to learn that the hard way.. the very hard way..) Just thank god I always save my drawings as a new file when I make big changes to them, so I could always go back some steps if I feel the changes weren’t good... But never has my computer done that before… And because of that, there was no way to recover that file ever again, no matter what I tried… (I swear, I almost thought that was a bad omen the way things worked out… >_<..) I at least had a slightly earlier version of the drawing to continue on… but without all the complicated hand editing saved … So after feeling angry, frustrated and even BROKEN inside, I slowly started to REDO the whole hand ordeal again.. I don’t think it compares to how I did it the first time.. but now my determination for perfecting it has died down after that incident..

This drawing has given me the hardest and most complicated times ever, T_T but my friend mentioned it probably is her fav out of my other ones... so I guess it was worth all that madness....

I might go back to fix some stuff, but mostly likely I won’t unless I have soem free time, since I start classes again after tomorrow… >_< I guess I’ll be even slower on finishing new drawings now...
